It might be interesting to add presence, chat, side channels, but as a study of group dynamics it's amazingly fascinating. If anything, the only thing I would add would be the number of uses participating.'

obviously...
a good bit of playful propaganda
except they dont think might is right they just go ahead and take, to the benefit of us all ;)
It all began innocently enough when a user on an Apple help forum posted a picture of his cat, Frankie, contemplating the beauty of a flower. Shortly afterwards another user posted a picture of his cat bristling at the image of Frankie on the monitor. I decided this was too much fun and advanced the concept as The Infinite Cat Project which is, simply, cats regarding cats regarding cats in an electronic melieu. ..."

"After examining numerous frames of video footage [C-SPAN 30 Sept 04] I have come to the professional opinion that either George Bush was wearing a wireless prompter/queuing system on the night of the debates, or our* president is growing some kind of mutant dorsal fin. By very carefully examining the movement of his body and how it interacts with his suit jacket it is easy to rule out the possibility 'the bulge' is simply a wrinkle in his clothing or a problem with bad lighting."
*yes "our president" - little john is a regional governor."Pilate" maybe in another time and place?

Guardian Unlimited | US elections 2004 | The madness of George

The Bush campaign expected those images to carry them through the November elections: it had cost them more than $200m (?112m) to build those caricatures and they had every reason to expect a solid return on their investment..."

"Throw the virgin into the volcano.
Mt St Helens has been on the fritz the last week with a couple small eruptions, on the cusp of something big. This is a kind of an exciting time to be in Portland, to be part of history. If we only had a virgin to throw in the volcano to calm it down.

Boing Boing: Team America preview screening in Hollywood
"Paramount Studios' first media screening of Team America: World Police, the new film by 'South Park' creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. It's a nihilistic sendup of bloated, Bruckheimer-style action epics -- cast entirely with marionettes."
Comparing Australian Foreign Policy With Respect To Terrorism || kuro5hin.org
"Australia is facing a federal election on October 9th with the two main parties having little to separate them in domestic and economic policy. Where the Liberal and Labor parties differ greatly is in foreign policy. The Liberal Party adheres to the 'Great and Powerful Friends' doctrine while the Labor Party pursues the doctrine of 'Asian Engagement'."
Background and current foreign policy with a charmingly partisan analysis that I agree with.
Laura quotes: "I wanna be a man of the world
With blood in my veins and a hurt in my heart
Out in the street with the noise and the dirt
And the one still looking for a brand new start"
